HCAHPS
The Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) is the first national standardized, publicly reported survey showing patients’ perspectives of their hospital care. Using HCAHPS’ 32-item survey instrument and data collection methodology, valid comparisons can be made of the patients’ experiences across hospitals locally, regionally and nationally.
Based on the Press Ganey database comparison in the fourth quarter of FY13, of 1,746 hospitals for surveys returned, HCAHPS scores at Hoag Orthopedic Institute were among the best in the nation, ranking in the 99th percentile – the top one percent in the nation –
for “Recommend the Hospital” and “Rate the Hospital.”
