AMBULATORY SURGERY CENTERS
Researchers at the University of California, Berkeley estimate that Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) saved Medicare $7.5 billion from 2008 to 2011. Going forward, ASCs have the potential to save the Medicare system an additional $57.6 billion over the next decade. For consumers, ASCs often add a measure of convenience. HOI operates two ASCs – Main Street Specialty Surgery Center (MSSSC), and Orthopedic Surgery Center of Orange County (OSCOC). Both surgery centers experienced strong growth over the past year.
